Pale, bright straw-green in colour and without any oily phenolic characters this is a finely made wine.  Apricot nectar, honeysuckle flowers are evident, along with a cedary tension and peppery liveliness through to the back palate.

2011 Roussanne

Quartz Hill secured a small parcel of this  traditional Rhone white grape variety from Glenlofty vineyard (also in the Pyrenees) and we are very happy with the results.  This wine has hints of fresh lime blossom and pear, pleasing acid and balance from start to finish.

2009 Syrah Viognier

This traditional Rhone style Syrah has been enhanced with the addition of approximately 4.5% Viognier.  With hints of fresh licorice and mulberry and elegant spices. The palate delivers ripe, soft tannins, peppery shiraz flavour and good balance from start to finish.

2010 Syrah

This traditional Rhone style Syrah is a medium bodied wine with elements of blackberry, slate, iron and brazil nuts.  Also detectable are cherries, florals and mild spice.  Tannins are textured, with a slippery musky element on the palate along with length and composure.
